Using layers
Align, distribute, and snap to canvas, other elements, or a grid.
Aligning and snapping elements
Print Studio provides two complementary tools: alignment for explicit positioning, and snapping for assisted positioning as you drag.
Alignment
Select two or more elements and open Arrange -> Align. The available commands are:
- Align left, centre, right — horizontal alignment of bounding boxes
- Align top, middle, bottom — vertical alignment
- Distribute horizontally — equal gaps between elements horizontally
- Distribute vertically — equal gaps between elements vertically
Alignment operates on the bounding boxes of the selected elements.
Snapping
Snapping is automatic and shows guide lines as you drag. Three targets, all togglable from the toolbar:
- Snap to canvas — edges and centre of the canvas
- Snap to elements — edges and centre of other elements
- Snap to grid — a configurable spacing grid
Toggle snapping
Click the Magnet icon in the toolbar to disable all snapping temporarily. Useful when you need precise freeform positioning.
