Multi-page projects

Add, reorder, group, and lock layers to organise complex designs in Print Studio.

Using layers

The layers panel on the right of the canvas shows the structure of your project. Each object on the canvas is either a layer or inside a group inside a layer.

Add a layer

New objects are added to the currently selected layer. Use the + button at the top of the panel to add a new blank layer above or below the current one.

Reorder

Drag a layer up or down in the panel to change its z-order. Higher layers render on top of lower ones. You can also right-click and use Move to front or Move to back.

Visibility and locking

Each layer has two toggle icons:

  • Eye — show or hide the layer.
  • Lock — prevent editing on that layer. Locked layers can still be selected for inspection but cannot be moved or transformed.

Rename

Double-click the layer name to rename. Use names that describe the role: "Background", "Logo", "Body text", "Footer".

Layer color

Use the colour swatch next to the layer name to tag the layer. Tagged layers stand out in the panel and are useful for visually grouping layers from different parts of the design.
