Working with shapes and vector fills
Place raster images, crop non-destructively, and control placement vs content vs fill behaviour.
Adding and cropping images
Images in Print Studio are always placed, never embedded as flattened pixels. You can move, scale, and crop them without losing quality.
Place an image
Drag an image file from your computer onto the canvas, or use File → Place image to browse. Print Studio accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and SVG.
Resize vs crop
The toolbar above the selected image has three modes:
- Resize — drag corner handles to scale the entire image.
- Crop — drag edge handles to set a crop region. The original image is preserved.
- Skew — drag to apply a perspective transform.
Non-destructive crop
The crop in Print Studio does not modify the underlying image. The cropped area is remembered as a property of the placed image. You can reset or adjust the crop at any time by entering crop mode again.
Sizing modes
The properties panel has three sizing modes that determine how the image behaves when you change its frame:
- Placement — image sits at its original size inside the frame.
- Content — image fills the frame, may be cropped.
- Fill — image scales to fully cover the frame, no crop.
