Print Studio, Print Sheet, and Print Doc

The text tool, type-on-path, font selection, kerning, leading, and outline/fill modes in Print Studio.

Adding and styling text

The text tool is one of the most-used tools in Print Studio.

Add a text frame

  1. Press T or pick the Text tool in the toolbar.
  2. Click and drag on the canvas to draw a frame. Click without dragging to add a single-line text object that auto-sizes.
  3. Type your text. The frame grows vertically as you type.

Style controls

The Properties panel on the right shows typography controls when a text frame is selected:

  • Font family — choose from the loaded font set.
  • Size — point size. 1 pt = 0.353 mm.
  • Weight — Regular, Medium, Bold. Variable fonts expose a continuous weight slider when available.
  • Leading — line spacing in points. Default 1.2x size.
  • Tracking — letter spacing in 1/1000 em.
  • Alignment — left, centre, right, justified.
  • Colour — single fill. Outline text mode exposes a stroke colour and width.

Type on path

Pick the Path text tool, then click on a path. The text follows the path direction. Drag the start/end handles to control which segment is filled with text.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • B — bold
  • I — italic
  • U — underline
  • Esc — exit edit mode, keep frame selected
