Aligning and snapping elements
Rectangles, ellipses, polygons, free-form vectors — including gradients, patterns, and boolean operations.
Working with shapes and vector fills
Print Studio treats every shape as a vector. That means you can scale, fill, stroke, and combine them without quality loss.
Shape tools
- R — Rectangle. Hold Shift for a square, Alt to draw from centre.
- O — Ellipse. Hold Shift for a circle.
- L — Line. Hold Shift to constrain to 15 degree increments.
- P — Polygon. Adjust sides in the properties panel.
- B — Pen. Click to add anchor points, drag for curves.
Fills
Three fill modes:
- Solid — single colour.
- Gradient — linear or radial. Add colour stops in the gradient editor.
- Pattern — repeats a small image or vector across the shape.
Strokes
Each shape can have an independent stroke. Adjust width, colour, dash pattern, and join style (miter, round, bevel).
Boolean operations
Select two or more shapes and open Arrange → Combine:
- Union — merges them into one shape.
- Subtract — removes the top shape from the bottom.
- Intersect — keeps only the overlap.
- Exclude — keeps the non-overlapping areas.
Tips
Use vector shapes for logos, icons, and any element you will scale or reuse. Convert text to vector with Type → Convert to outlines before sending to a shop that only accepts flattened artwork.
