Creating and formatting a document
A quick decision guide for choosing between the canvas editor, the spreadsheet tool, and the word processor.
Print Studio, Print Sheet, and Print Doc
HDPrint ships three document tools, each tuned for a different output type.
Print Studio — the canvas editor
Use it for visual, freeform layouts:
- Flyers, posters, business cards, invitations
- Certificates, menus, social media graphics
- Anything with images next to text, or custom positioning
Features: vector and raster layers, snapping and alignment, non-destructive image adjustments, pen drawing tools, multi-page projects.
Print Sheet — the spreadsheet
Use it for tabular data and calculations:
- Price lists, schedules, timetables
- Anything with formulas, references, or charts
Features: cells and ranges, formulas, CSV import/export, number formatting, basic charts.
Print Doc — the word processor
Use it for flowing text documents:
- Resumes, cover letters, reports, contracts
- Simple articles, term papers
Features: page layout and margins, headers, footers, page numbers, DOCX import.
Decision rule of thumb
Ask yourself: _where does the content go?_
- Next to that image, at a custom position → Print Studio
- In row N, column M → Print Sheet
- In the next paragraph → Print Doc
