Adding and styling text

How to start a new design project in Print Studio, choose a canvas size, and save it to your account.

Creating your first project

A project in HDPrint is any document you work on in Print Studio, Print Sheet, or Print Doc. This guide covers Print Studio; the Sheet and Doc flows are similar.

1. Open Print Studio

From the home dashboard, choose Print Studio. The new-project picker opens by default.

2. Pick a size

You can start from:

  • A blank canvas with a custom size
  • A preset — A4, A3, Letter, Legal, business card, flyer, poster
  • Custom dimensions in millimetres or inches

The picker remembers your last size between sessions.

3. Name and create

The default name is "Untitled". Click the name field at the top to rename it before saving — this makes it easy to find in your projects list later.

4. The canvas

Once created, you see the Print Studio canvas. The toolbar is on the left, the layers panel is on the right, and the properties panel opens when you select an element.

5. Save

Print Studio autosaves every few seconds. You can also press ⌘/Ctrl + S or use File → Save to force a snapshot.

Use File → Version history to see previous snapshots and restore one if needed.
