How to scan a shop QR code and start an order

A QR-first print ordering system: scan a shop code, upload a file, configure prints, pay. No app install, no account required.

What is HDPrint

HDPrint is a QR-first print ordering system for local print shops. A customer scans a permanent QR code displayed at a shop, opens a web page in their phone browser, uploads a file, chooses print options, and pays — without installing an app or creating an account for the basic flow.

The core idea

Instead of emailing a file to a shop, messaging it on WhatsApp, or handing over a USB drive, the shop counter displays one permanent QR code. That code opens a shop-specific ordering page on the HDPrint platform.

What the customer does

  1. Scan the QR code with the phone camera — no app needed.
  2. Upload a PDF, image, or Office document.
  3. Choose paper size, colour, copies, duplex, page range.
  4. Pay through the on-screen gateway.
  5. Receive a pickup code. Collect prints from the shop.

What the shop does

The shop runs a single desktop app (HDPrint Kiosk) showing incoming jobs. Accepted jobs spool to the configured printer automatically.

What you do not need

  • No app install
  • No account for basic ordering
  • No driver configuration
  • No email or chat exchange
  • No hardware changes at the shop
